For those concerned about residential summer water usage, I wanted to share research and program resources we have conducted and developed over the last 4 years. This includes foundational research starting with selecting behaviors, conducting barrier and benefit research on the top behaviors (reducing lawn watering, fixing irrigation leaks, installing weather-based automatic irrigation, and fixing pool leaks), designing a strategy to address the barriers and benefits to reducing lawn watering, pilot testing, and now we are in broad-scale implementation. The "Additional Resources" section in the link go through reports on each step. If you're interested in more information about this work, feel free to reach out to Kaitlin Phelps, [email protected]
