I'd like to hear from anyone who has worked with kindergartens or pre-schools to encourage the children to learn to ride a bike, and for families to ride to kindergarten. Obviously the children are too young to ride alone and may not have the skills to ride a bike confidently. We are looking to plan a campaign in Brisbane, Australia but I can't find many other case studies or precedents. All information or suggestions would be welcome.

Hi Michele, I haven't been involved in a biking campaign but this NGO in Vancouver, Canada runs a very successful yearly bike week that includes a school component. If you contact them they may have some leads or insights. Under the "Bike Education" tab, you'll also see the courses they offer, many of them kid/family oriented. It's great idea - good luck!

Hey Michele,
You might be interested to read about Ride2School. We're a part of Bicycle Network, a not-for-profit organisation trying to make it easier to get more people riding. We have thousands of schools engaged across Australia, but work directly and hands-on with schools in Vic. Like you mentioned, pre-school is pretty young for independant travel, but we've got public activities and resources available that you might be keen to check-out. My email is [email protected].
Have a good one!
