I'm interested to hear from other municipalities who have worked with retailers to incorporate shelf talkers in their communications strategy. We are launching a curbside recycling collection program as well as a clear garbage bag rule while at the same time decreasing our weekly garbage collection from 2 bags down to 1 bag.

My idea is to have the new rules in a shelf talker format posted in the garbage bag aisles to encourage residents to switch to clear bags, educate them on the upcoming changes including the new blue cart recycling program. Of course it will have to be short and to the point.

Does anyone have any templates or examples that may help? Also I would love to hear from others who may have had the same idea and how it worked and what the response of the retailers were to the ask. I'm wondering if we should supply the pre-printed shelf talkers, provide a printable file for them to make the shelf talker, or if there will even be any uptake amongst retailers for this.

Any help is much appreciated, thank you.
